  • Maximus (Cantour) Sired by Cantus

Maximus, a horse with a perfect name, has been with BeOne Training & Wellness for the last 9 years. Vanessa was contacted through an Equine Rescue in WA regarding 2 horses in need of immediate training and fostering due to severe abuse and neglect. These 2 horses’ stories were so severe and unique that no one was willing to take them on. After much research and inquiry Vanessa decided to foster Maximus first in an attempt to give him the best chance at success before taking on the second horse. Through the utilization of the Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt Horsemanship and Positive Reinforcement Training Techniques along with Patience and Time…Maximus was rehabilitated. Unfortunately, through the evaluation process Vanessa discovered the abuse and over training Maximus had endured had caused such severe permanent damage to Maximus’s legs and face… leaving him blind in his left eye and having ring bone in his hind legs. This left him ineligible for adoption. She decided to adopt him herself and made the lifelong committed to keep Maximus until he was no longer comfortable. He continues to live out his Glory Days at Creekside Meadow Farms. The other horse was rehabilitated as well and was successfully adopted to a home in Idaho.

  • Age: Not Sure
  • Gender: Mare
  • Color: Chestnut
  • Breed: Shetland Mini Pony

Liza came to us in 2020 as a rescue roughly 6 months after we purchased our farm Creekside Meadow Farms. She was in need of shelter during the winter months. Liza had been living with her halter and a lead rope attached to her face for over a year so she was in desperate need of TLC. We used Positive Reinforcement Training to build her trust and retrain her to trust and learn to take the halter on and off along with feeling safe being handled while blanketing and all other basic horse/pony training. He owner saw how well she was thriving with our training and care that she asked us to adopt her. We of course said yes we would be happy to take her! Liza is now thriving and with some medial interventions for her Thyroid issues she should be able to live a long and prosperous life here at the farm!

  • Color: Black Dun
  • Breed: Mini Donkey

Like all good Donkey’s Buddy adopted our family when we purchased Creekside Meadow Farms in 2019. He has been at the farm for nearly 13yrs and is considered to be the “Elder” of the property. His story is a bit vague but from what we know his basic needs have always been cared for but he was never taken out of his paddock to visit with other animals or humans. Buddy was never given the opportunity to explore the property (except for when he would escape). Since adopting Buddy we have trained Buddy to be haltered, lead, groom, go into the main barn, cross the bridge, free lunge in the arena and most of all…explore and enjoy his Fern Forest!! He truly loves to be with his family
