About Vanessa Howard Anderson

Vanessa created BeOne Training as a way to share her over 25 years of riding, competing, and training experience with clients. BeOne Training combines several disciplines into a winning combination of horsemanship, riding skills, and personal growth. BeOne Training include Hunter/Jumper training, working with young or challenging horses, building rider confidence and connection with the horse, and the pragmatic application of the techniques developed by Tom and Bill Dorrance, Ray Hunt, and Buck Brannaman.

Vanessa started her show jumping career at the age of eight in the Pony Hunter ring and graduated progressively through the ranks to the Junior Hunter and Jumper Devisions. Qualifying for the AHSA/USEF Finals back East multiple times, the ASPCA/Maclay West Coast Finals, as well as winning the CET Medal, during her years as a Junior rider. Vanessa’s championship awards are both numerous and in recognition of her dedication to the sport.

Vanessa attended Goucher College in Baltimore MD, where she competed for the IHSA Equestrian Team on the East Coast as well as in the ANRC multiple times. She chose to remain on the East Coast throughout the Summers to train the horses that would come in for the Equestrian Team as well as show them on the local and A Circuits. Vanessa earned her double Major in Psychology and Sociology (Graduating with Honors) before returning to the Pacific Northwest.

BeOne Training has its roots in Vanessa’s amateur career as well as the successful Hunter/Jumper business she operated from her own training facility in Redmond Washington. Vanessa created one of the best Hunter/Jumper training programs in the Northwest by combining horsemanship, riding skills, and personal growth.

Vanessa had the opportunity to take multiple young horses from the Baby Green Hunters to the 2nd Year Green Working Hunters winning numerous Championships along the way.  On many occasions she was given horses that had never jumped or needed extensive retraining and turned them into successful show jumping horses on the A Circuit for her customers.  Vanessa had the opportunity to ride Opus One to the 6 Year Old Young Jumper Year End Zone 9 Championships.

She also spent 10 plus years attending the clinics of Buck Brannaman and applying his techniques to all phases of developing the horse and rider.  This culminated in the rescue of two horses that were left for dead and subsequently 100% rehabilitated.

Vanessa and BeOne Training can help you achieve your goals, both for you and your horse. You will become a better rider and partner with your horse.
